The LM340T-12 is virtually indestructible with it’s internal current-limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe-area compensation. This device is designed to be used as a fixed regulator in most instances. When this voltage regulator is used for on-card regulation, noise and distribution problems that may occur with single-point regulation are eliminated. To use the LM340T-12 as an adjustable regulator the use of outside components would be needed.
Features:
Complete specifications at 1A load
Internal thermal overload protection
Internal short-circuit current limit
Output transistor safe area protection
P+ Product Enhancement tested
