Twist-to-lock connectors were invented by Hubbell and “Twist-Lock” is a registered trademark of Hubbell Incorporated. Locking plugs have the pins arrayed in a circular manner. The plug is inserted into the female side and twisted to lock in place. While there is a NEMA standard for 50 amp Locking Connectors it has not been adopted by the industry. Instead a California Standard for 50 amp is widely accepted. Assure the Plug will fit on the cord you are using and will mate with the female side used in your application.
The CS8365C is a 3-pole 4-wire 3-phase 50A/250VAC Twist-Lock® Insulgrip® Grounding Plug. This plug is made of nylon cover, thermoplastic polyester interior and polyester cord grip with 21.08 to 31.75mm diameter, brass blades, stainless steel shell and terminal screws.
