Bussmann / Eaton offers a range of photovoltaic (PV) fuses specifically designed for the protection and isolation of solar panel systems. These fuse links, available in a 10mm x 38mm package, are engineered to handle low overcurrents commonly found in faulted PV string arrays, including reverse current and multi-array faults. They feature a 1000VDC rated voltage and a breaking capacity of 33kAdc, with current ratings ranging from 1A to 15A.

Development of sophisticated solar panel systems has accelerated the demand for high performance fuses. The short-circuit conditions associated with solar panels do not allow for sufficient current to open a standard fuse in a way that effectively isolates faulted photovoltaic (PV) strings. The new Cooper Bussmann® PV Fuse line provides a full range of protection that traditional fuses cannot. Bussmann Fuse Links are specifically designed for the protection and isolation of photovoltaic strings. The fuse links are capable of interrupting low overcurrents associated with faulted PV (reverse current, multi-array fault) string arrays.
