CONNECTORS

A connector, also known as an electrical connector, is a device used to join electrical circuits. It typically consists of two mating parts a male (plug) and a female (jack or socket) which come together to complete the circuit. Connectors are commonly used to transmit power, signals, and data. They come in various types, identifiable by factors such as shape, size, contact configuration, pinout, and insulation between contacts. Connections to the contacts can be made in several ways, including crimping, soldering, wire-wrapping, solder cups, or board mounting.
