Centralab was sold to North American Philips in 1981 where it was merged with Mepco to become Mepco/Centralab. Mepco/Centralab was later merged with other North American Philips brands to become part of Philips Components.
Philips Components spun off “BCcomponents” which included the Centralab capacitor products. BCcomponents was subsequently purchased by Vishay in 2002 and some of the old Centralab thru-hole capacitors are still made at the Vishay Danshui plant.
