In 1990, Hytek Microsystems sold the assets of its Topaz Semiconductor Inc unit to nChip Inc and Teledyne Industries Inc. nChip bought capital equipment and miscellaneous supplies for an undisclosed amount of cash and Teledyne bought capital equipment, all product inventories, and intellectual property rights used to make the Topaz C-MOS and D-MOS products line in exchange for cash and a future stream of royalties.
