Exar Corporation
Exar Technology, now known as MaxLinear, was a semiconductor company specializing in the design and manufacture of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs). The company was founded in 1971 and had its headquarters in San Jose, California, USA. In 2017, Exar Technology was acquired by MaxLinear, and the combined company operates under the MaxLinear name.
Exar Corporation powers connectivity with an extensive array of power management, communications, and interface silicon solutions. Exar’s power management ICs are used in a variety of applications and include LDOs, DC/DC switching regulators, PWM controllers, charge pumps, and microprocessor supervisors. The products are designed for use together to a create complete power management systems but can also be used as standalone solutions. Exar also offers online design tools to help designers create customized solutions using Exar products.
