Brighton-Best International offers an extensive range of products, including socket products (such as socket cap screws, set screws, and dowel pins), machine bolt products (including hex bolts, structural bolts, and carriage bolts), screw products (like machine screws, construction screws, and self-tapping screws), nut products (such as hex nuts, stainless locknuts, and metric nuts), washer products (including flat washers, assorted washers, and split lock washers), all thread products, anchor products, and many more.
Brighton-Best’s origins trace back to a Cincinnati storefront factory established in 1925 as Brighton Screw Co. Best Socket Screw began operations in New York City in 1965, founded by Mr. Stan Sevell and Mr. Perry Rosenstein, both of whom had significant experience in the fastener distribution industry. In 1971, they acquired the assets of Brighton Socket Screw Manufacturing in Cincinnati, Ohio, and merged the companies to form Brighton-Best Socket Mfg. Inc. (BBI), which became a leading supplier of socket screw products in the U.S.
By 1975, Brighton-Best had established 12 warehouse distribution centers across the U.S. and began international expansion with a warehouse in Toronto, Canada, followed by four more in Canada. Over the next two decades, the company continued to open distribution centers in the USA, UK, Brazil, New Zealand, and Australia. Today, Brighton-Best operates in 31 locations across six countries and supplies over 7,000 distributors worldwide.
On January 2, 2008, Brighton-Best Socket Screw Mfg. was acquired by a consortium of Taiwanese investors led by Mr. Robert Shieh, President of Ta Chen International, Inc. In 2013, BBI acquired the Porteous Fastener Company (PFC), a leading fastener master distributor based in California. This acquisition expanded BBI’s distribution footprint to 34 locations worldwide and enhanced its product scope, especially in the construction products market through the Proferred and US Anchor divisions.
The Proferred brand includes a comprehensive line of professional hand tools, safety supplies (PPE), and consumables such as gloves, tape, and glue. The U.S. Anchor brand, with a 45-year history, offers a wide range of anchoring products suitable for light, medium, and heavy-duty construction and industrial applications. Notably, the Ultrawedge+ wedge anchor has achieved ICC-ES approval for cracked concrete, as well as approvals from Miami-Dade County, the State of Florida, the City of Los Angeles, and the State of California.
Brighton-Best International continues to offer a broad spectrum of products, including an extensive line of screws with both imperial and metric threads, such as standard head, button head, flat head, flange head, captive screws, set screws, shoulder screws, thumb screws, and wing screws.
