Cougar Electronics Corp. was founded in 1968 and bought the General Instrument Selenium Rectifier Division. The company has manufactured Selenium Rectifiers since that time originally in Brooklyn and now in New Haven.
Cougar is a manufacturer of selenium rectifiers and suppressors for industrial applications. Along with these type of semiconductors we make silicon rectifiers and assembly mainly for high voltage and high power. We also fabricate power supplies used in the plating industry and other industries using DC power. Cougar is also a contract manufacturer for other manufactures which use sub-assemblies that we manufacturer for their completed products. Cougar is also a value added distributor for several other manufacturer’s semiconductor products.
