Today, KEMET maintains its corporate headquarters and a new power film manufacturing facility in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Manufacturing facilities are located in Matamoros, Monterrey, and Ciudad Victoria Mexico; Suzhou and Anting-Shanghai, China; Pontecchio, Italy; Weymouth, United Kingdom; Évora, Portugal; Suomussalmi, Finland; Granna, Sweden; Skopje, Macedonia; Batam, Indonesia; Landsberg, Germany; Kyustendil, Bulgaria; Knoxville, Tennessee and Carson City, Nevada. KEMET also owns two specialty electronics companies–FELCO in Chicago, Illinois, and Dectron in Farjestaden, Sweden. KEMET produces many kinds of capacitors, such as tantalum, aluminum, multilayer ceramic, film, paper, polymer electrolytic, and supercapacitors. KEMET also manufacturers a variety of electronic components such as, AC line filters, EMI cores and filters, flex suppressors, relays, metal composite inductors, ferrite products, and transformers/magnetics. The product line consists of nearly 5 million distinct part configurations distinguished by various attributes, such as dielectric (or insulating) material, configuration, encapsulation, capacitance (at various tolerances), voltage, performance characteristics and packaging.

June 15, 2020: Yageo has acquired all of the outstanding shares of KEMET’s common stock. As a result of the transaction, KEMET is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Yageo, and KEMET’s common stock is no longer listed on any public market.
