HelioProtection® Fuses are a specialized line of photovoltaic (PV) fuses designed by Mersen to safeguard solar energy systems from overcurrent, ground faults, and line faults. These fuses are engineered to handle the unique requirements of solar power installations, offering reliable protection for both off-grid and grid-tied photovoltaic systems.

Key Features:

  1. High Voltage Rating: HelioProtection fuses are rated up to 1500VDC, making them suitable for modern, high-voltage solar applications.

  2. Low Fault Current Protection: These fuses are designed to safely interrupt low fault currents typical in PV arrays, such as reverse currents and multiarray faults. The fuses have a low minimum breaking capacity, usually 1.35 times the rated current.

  3. Durable Construction: The fuses are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions and cyclical loads, making them highly durable. They perform well under constant temperature fluctuations and extreme thermal conditions.

  4. Variety of Terminals: HelioProtection fuses are available with standard ferrule terminals, as well as Crimp Cap terminals, which allow for solderless wire-to-fuse connections. This feature is particularly useful in overmold encapsulation applications, improving system integrity.

  5. Global Certifications: These fuses comply with several international standards, including UL, CSA, and IEC, ensuring their suitability for use in solar installations worldwide.

  6. Multiple Amperage Options: The HelioProtection line supports a wide range of amperages, from small to high current applications, making it versatile for different levels of solar installations.
