Switches

A switch is an electromechanical device that controls the flow of electricity in a circuit. In the OFF (open) position, the circuit is interrupted and no current flows; in the ON (closed) position, electricity passes through. Typical switches consist of an actuator, moving contacts, terminals, and a protective housing.

Snap-action switches operate with a quick, tactile mechanism that turns contacts ON or OFF with minimal force. They convert mechanical movements into electrical signals and are commonly used for position detection. Available types include split contact, maintained contact, drip-proof, high-capacity, and DC-dedicated switches.
