Transformers

A transformer is a passive electrical component that transfers energy between one or more circuits through electromagnetic induction. Transformers are foundational to electrical infrastructure, enabling the essential voltage conversion required for everything from household appliances to large-scale alternating current (AC) power systems.

Open core-coil transformers are ideal for OEMs needing a ventilated transformer for integration into assemblies. Typical applications include lighting, heating, air conditioning, fans, and machine tools. These transformers offer a more flexible and cost-effective alternative to enclosed units, eliminating the need to discard unnecessary enclosure components.

Power transformers are engineered for a wide range of topologies, including Flyback, Flybuck™, no-opto, forward-mode, active-clamp forward, push-pull, resonant-mode, and full- or half-bridge configurations. Off-the-shelf surface-mount (SMD) and through-hole (TH) transformers are available for applications such as Power over Ethernet (PoE), current sensing, ultrasonic sensing, isolation, capacitor charging, gate drive, and pulse generation. Power converter transformers support both DC-DC and AC-DC voltage conversion in industrial, automotive, and high-reliability environments.
