Logic ICs
A logic IC is a semiconductor device designed to perform basic logical operations on one or more digital input signals—typically represented as 1s and 0s (or High and Low)—to produce a corresponding digital output. These ICs are fundamental building blocks in digital electronics.
Standard logic ICs are compact integrated packages that contain essential components for implementing core logic functions. They are commonly used to build logic circuits for a wide range of applications, from simple control systems to complex digital processing.
Basic logic gates—such as AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, XOR, and XNOR—are widely available as industry-standard ICs. These devices are designed to be functionally and pin-compatible across multiple manufacturers, making them easy to integrate into new or existing designs.
Today’s digital systems rely on these standard logic ICs for reliable, fast, and consistent performance, and they remain a critical part of any digital electronics curriculum or system architecture.
