Supervisory Circuits

Supervisory circuits serve a variety of purposes, with two core functions:

Power-On Reset (POR): During system startup, the supervisor holds the microcontroller in reset until the supply voltage reaches and stabilizes at the correct level.

Undervoltage Reset: The supervisor immediately resets the microcontroller if the supply voltage drops below a defined threshold—either during power-down or a brown-out event.
