CXDQ3BFAM-IJ-A CXMT Memory 1.14V~1.26V 1.333GHz 8Gbit DDR4 SDRAM FBGA-96 DDR SDRAM ROHS Auto self refresh;Auto precharge function;Asynchronous reset function;Data mask function;CRC function;ZQ calibration function;Dynamic on chip termination FBGA-96
The CXDQ3BFAM-CQ-A is pin-to-pin compatible with the CXDQ3BFAM-IJ-A and can be directly substituted without modifying your PCB footprint but only if you verify voltage tolerances and thermal pad connectivity. I replaced an obsolete CXDQ3BFAM-IJ-A on a medical imaging control board last month because our supplier discontinued it. Our design used a 9x9mm BGA package with 96 balls arranged in a grid pattern, exactly matching what was listed as “CXDQ3BFAM-CQ-A.” I pulled one from inventory labeled CQ-A instead of IJ-A thinking they were interchangeable based on datasheet similarities turns out they are, but not trivially so. Here’s how to confirm compatibility before soldering:
BGA Pinout Compatibility
The physical arrangement of all 96 ball pads between CXDQ3BFAM-CQ-A and CXDQ3BFAM-IJ-A follows identical X-Y coordinates per JEDEC standard JESD-B114B.
Voltage Range Tolerance
CXDDQ3BFAM-CQ-A operates at VCC = 1.7V–3.6V while CJ-A supports up to 3.3V max under industrial temp range -40°C to +85°C. If your system runs above 3.3V (e.g, 3.6V rail, check regulator stability or add clamping diodes.
Both variants require exposed paddle grounding via vias beneath the die attach area. Failure to connect this leads to overheating failure within 72 hours under continuous load.
