The CX7291 Embedded PC is compatible with the BACnet/IP protocol, making it ideal for applications in HVAC, lighting controllers and security and fire alarm technology. On the other hand, the CX7293 Embedded PC has a PROFINET RT Device interface. E-bus or K-bus I/O terminals from Beckhoff can be attached to both devices as needed; the embedded PC automatically recognizes which I/O system is connected during the start-up phase. The controller is programmed with TwinCAT 3 via the standard Ethernet interface. The new devices in the CX72xx series offer higher CPU performance compared to the basic CX7000 series and feature a capacitive 1-second UPS.

The CX7000 Embedded PCs series opens up an exceptionally high level of computing power in the small controller category. The extremely compact design–with dimensions of just 71 mm x 100 mm x 73 mm for the new devices–offers optimal scalability of PC-based control for a wide variety of applications in a minimal footprint.

The CX7291 Embedded PC has an Arm Cortex-A9 single-core processor with 720 MHz.

In the basic configuration, the CX7291 has a slot for a microSD card and an Ethernet interface. As a special feature, the CX7000 series has eight integrated multi-functional inputs as well as four integrated multi-functional outputs.

E-bus or K-bus terminals can be attached as required; the CX7291 automatically recognizes the type of I/O system connected during the start-up phase. The control system is programmed with TwinCAT 3 via the Ethernet interface.

BACnet (Building Automation Control Network) is a standardized, manufacturer-independent communication protocol for building automation. Areas of application include HVAC, lighting control, safety and fire alarm technology.
