The IQ Battery 5P (IQBATTERY-5P-1P-NA) performs two critical functions in your system. First, the battery packs, internal to IQ Battery 5P, store energy for later use, such as during a power outage. Second, the IQ Microinverters in the IQ Battery 5P units provide the voltage and frequency necessary for the operation of your solar while running off the grid. Microinverters convert your harvested energy into usable AC electricity for your house. IThe Q Battery 5P communicates with the IQ Gateway through a wired communication signal. The IQ Battery 5P, all-in-one AC-coupled system is powerful, reliable, simple, and safe. It has a total usable energy capacity of 5.0 kWh and includes six embedded grid-forming microinverters with a 3.84 kVA continuous power rating and a peak output power rating of 7.68kW for 3 seconds and 6.14kW for 10 seconds.
The IQ Battery system includes the battery cell pack with integrated IQ Microinverters and battery management system (BMS). The system requires IQ System Controller 3/3G for grid-tied and backup operations. The IQ Gateway inside IQ System Controller measures PV production, IQ Battery charge/discharge power and home energy consumption, and it senses when it is optimal to charge or discharge the battery so that energy is stored when it is abundant and used when it is scarce.
Enphase Energy Systems with IQ Battery 5P are typically sized to meet one of the following configurations:
Partial home backup with three smart profiles: Savings profile, Self-Consumption profile, and Full Backup profile.
Whole home backup with three smart profiles: Savings profile, Self-Consumption profile, and Full Backup profile.
Solar + Battery (no backup) with one smart profile: Self-Consumption profile.
The IQ Battery 5P all-in-one AC-coupled system is powerful, reliable, simple, and safe. It has a total usable energy capacity of 5.0 kWh and includes six embedded grid-forming microinverters with a 3.84 kVA continuous power rating. It provides backup capability and installers can quickly design the right system size to meet the customer needs.
DIY customers and solar installers must complete the Enphase Installer & Design Storage Certification Courses through Enphase University to commission their system. This will provide you with the Enphase Installer Authorization needed to activate the system. These courses can be accessed at the online Enphase University.
