Inductors

An inductor is a passive electronic component designed to resist sudden changes in electrical current. Commonly referred to as coils or chokes, inductors are symbolized by the letter L in circuit diagrams.

When current flows through an inductor, it creates a magnetic field that stores energy. This energy is then released back into the circuit, helping to smooth out voltage spikes and surges.

Inductors typically consist of a simple coil of wire and are essential in various electronic applications. IBS Electronics offers a wide selection of inductors from leading manufacturers.
