711364 Ismet Single-phase starting current limiter ESB-S 110-400V 16A TS35

Description

Starting current limiters are voltage-controlled devices. Their functioning is based on a time-delayed bridging of the incorporated damping resistor which is set ex works. The time-lag is also set ex works for the ESB-S model (approx. 20 to 50 msec.). Available in plastic casing, can be snapped onto mounting rail TS 35.

Application: Limitation of starting currents in electrical devices, e.g. transformers, electric motors, etc. The starting current limiter is connected directly in series to a device which is exposed to a high starting current. Design: The ESB-S design is constructed for a nominal current of 16 A. Experience shows that a limiting resistence of 5 ohms (standard) is generally sufficient. In certain cases, depending on the starting current peaks and, in particular, on the frequency of the peaks and/or the peak widths, longer ON delay or higher limitation resistances may prove to be necessary. Caution: Due to the incorporated overtemperature protection, the starting current limiter requires a certain cooling down phase between the switching cycles. The time between two switching cycles should be approx. one minute.

Voltage-controlled inrush current limiter:
Mode of action: is based on a time-delayed bridging of the integrated, fixed limiting resistor
The time delay of the type ESB-S is fixed at the factory (about 20-50 msec.)

snap-on mounting rail TS 35
Technical specifications:
Max. Apparent power: 6400 VA
Mounting type: DIN rail
Rated continuous current Iu: 16 A
Short-circuit current limiters: no
