The Betterfuse Thermal Protectors are compact, thermally operated snap-action devices designed to offer maximum protection in a minimal footprint. At the core of these protectors is a bi-metal snap-action strip that serves as the operational heart. When this strip reaches its calibrated temperature-triggered by a rise in ambient temperature, increased current flow, or both-it snaps open, creating an open circuit. This effectively interrupts the current flow, providing thermal protection. Once the system cools down, the Betterfuse automatically resets itself, allowing power to be restored to the circuit.
